Do you remember the old Beatles song, “You say goodbye, but I say hello?” My sweet machine, Brother 890 which I had for over 25 years finally knit her final stitch. This makes me so sad to say goodbye to this old friend. She has been so good to me through the years. She was always there no matter what time of day or night. She blessed many people with the garments she knit. She taught several people new techniques. My handyman husband has decided to perform an autopsy, learn the inside workings, and remove any usable spare parts for future purposes.
I now say hello to a Brother 860 that was inherited from another knitter. I find it ironic that it has all happened during the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012. Well, instead of dwelling on the past, we move on together, this new/old workhorse of mine. Soon we will be close friends and bless many more with her knitting goodness.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
and give you peace.
